Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane urged South Africans to give his party an opportunity to govern and bring change to their lives.

Maimane‚ who was speaking on Wednesday morning just before he could cast his vote in Roodepoort‚ said it was pleasing that‚ unlike in previous elections‚ nobody knew who was going to win elections.

“People must vote for change‚ they must vote for a party which will deliver services and jobs‚” he said.

“We trust that people have heard our messages and the fact that where we govern we have made people’s lives better.”

Maimane denied speculations that the DA was in secrete negotiations with the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to swap Midvaal votes for Johannesburg votes.

“There are absolutely no discussions of that nature. I lead the DA and there is no such. I have not spoken to Malema and none of the EFF leaders‚” he said.

“We waiting for results to come out and then we will decide where we go‚ and this idea of swopping municipalities cannot work. It is not democratic‚ it is not the will of the people.” – TMG Digital
