On Wednesday a severe storm swept through part of the West Rand, leaving about 190 families displaced and more than 20 people injured as hundreds of homes and apartments were damaged. 

The SA Weather Service that it was a tornado. 

The Umphakathi Mall was also affected by the tornado which damaged homes in Randfontein in the West Rand this week.
