Yesterday, leaders Sihle Zikalala and Ace Magashule, indicated they would oppose court applications brought against them by ANC provincial "rebels" this week to force the provincial executive committees (PECs) out of office.
ANC KZN spokesman Mdumiseni Ntuli said yesterday there was no basis for the "rebels" to go to court "when the matter was before the appeal court".
ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe said Luthuli House has joined the KZN PEC in appealing the court action.
In court papers, the Free State rebels accuse the ANC national leadership of not taken steps to prevent Magashule's PEC from continuing.
