Four people‚ including a young child‚ were killed in a collision between a vehicle and a truck on the Bultfontein road about 20 kilometres outside Bloemfontein in the Free State on Saturday night‚ paramedics said.
“At approximately 18h00‚ ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene and found another young child and male sustained moderate injuries in the collision.
“One of the men killed was entrapped in the Toyota Conquest and the Jaws of Life had to be used to remove him from the car‚” said ER24 spokesperson Annine Siddall.
The driver of the Toyota Conquest sustained minor injuries.
“ER24 transported the three patients to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
“Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation‚” Siddall said.
