A gangster who killed six people was jailed for 90 years on Friday in the High Court in Cape Town.
Enrico Oetinger Esterhuizen was found guilty of six murder charges‚ attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
Three of the murders happened in Ocean View in December 2015‚ when Esterhuizen killed three sleeping members of the same family.
Western Cape police commissioner Lieutenant-General Khombinkosi Jula said the sentencing was a morale booster for the police service and a victory for the family of the deceased.
“We will continue to intensify our efforts in clamping down on the scourge of gang violence in this province. We find sentences such as this one encouraging‚” he said.
