SARS swoops on R20-million male sex pill stash at OR Tambo airport

The South African Revenue Services (SARS) said it has stopped over R20 million worth of male sexual enhancers from entering the country at OR Tambo International Airport.

In as statement‚ SARS spokesman Sandile Memela said the bust happened on Sunday.

“SARS Customs officials intercepted 1809 kg of male sexual enhancement tablets worth R20.6 million at OR Tambo International Airport‚” he said.

Memela said the shipment at the transit sheds contained 80 000 tablets and 126 000 oral jellies‚ wrapped in brown sacks from Bombay‚ India. It was on its way to Swaziland.

“These tablets are restricted and controlled substances and must have permits when being imported.The shipment has been handed over to the Medical Council of South Africa for further investigation‚” said Memela.
