An 18-year-old teenager was arrested for murder and attempted murder in Arcadia , Bethelsdorp on Saturday, 28 January.
The teen was arrested after a fatal shooting of a 17-year- old victim took place. The 17-year old was in the company of a group of males when the shooting happened. He sustained several gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Two other persons aged 22 and 23 years old also sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital for medical treatment.
The shooting occurred near a Cash and Carry Supermarket in Rensburg Street, Arcadia. Police indicated that the incident is gang related in a press statement.
The Provincial Gang Investigation Unit arrested the teenager at his house in Jenniker Street.
He is detained on a charge of murder and attempted murder and is expected to appear in court on Monday, 30 January 2017.
