A four-year-old boy who is in a critical condition had to be airlifted to hospital for urgent treatment on Saturday afternoon after a near-drowning incident in Norkem Park‚ Johannesburg.
ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said paramedics were called to the scene by local security services.
“Upon arrival‚ paramedics found securty members performing CPR on a young boy lying next to the pool.
“ER24 paramedics immediately took over the treatment and provided the child with several advanced life support interventions.
“After a few short minutes‚ the child’s vital signs returned‚” Meiring said.
He added that the child was then transported to a nearby park where they were met by a medical helicopter which airlifted the child to a private hospital for urgent treatment.
