Vaal dam level’s rising streak continues into 10th consecutive week

Last week‚ TMG Digital reported that the level of the Vaal Dam is likely to increase for the 10th week running as rains in Gauteng replaced a heat wave.

The City of Johannesburg reported ?on Wednesday that the prediction came true. @CityofJoburgZA tweeted: “VAAL DAM water level up for 10th consecutive week. 2 Jan 2017: 44‚36% 26 Dec: 42‚12% 19 Dec: 41‚16% 5 Dec: 37‚58% #Savewater  NS”.

On Thursday morning‚ it adjusted this slightly‚ retweeting Trevor Balzer ?@Trevor–Balzer‚ who posted: “@DWS–RSA At 06:00 on 04/01/17 Vaal Dam 44.22% gauge plate reading down 0.14% last 24 hrs abstraction & evaporation exceed inflow #SaveWater”.

The increase was helped by overcast‚ cool and wet weather in Gauteng last week‚ and thunderstorms are expected to arrive in the province by Friday and continue until next Tuesday. – TMG Digital
