‘The Black Hawks planning to incite popular revolt‚’ Treason plot cop says

“The Black Hawks”. That’s the name of the group that is being investigating for treason‚ espionage and conspiracy to commit murder for targeting top cops – with the ultimate aim of inciting a “popular revolt”.

This emerged when Gauteng Hawks head Major-General Prince Mokotedi spoke to Radio 702 on Wednesday morning to explain the explosive allegations of a political plot that had been hatched to assassinate high-ranking policing and government officials.

Central to the plot are Independent Policing Investigative Directorate boss Robert McBride‚ private investigator Paul O’Sullivan‚ former Gauteng Hawks head Shadrack Sibya and suspended crime intelligence agent Captain Candice Coetzee.

The four were allegedly planning to assassinate acting national police commissioner Lieutenant-General Khomotso Phahlane‚ Hawks head Lieutenant-General Berning Ntlemeza‚ National Prosecuting head advocate Shaun Abrahams and newly appointed State Security Agency Director-General Arthur Fraser.

The allegations are contained in an affidavit deposed by Mokotedi on Monday.

Mokotedi said on Wednesday that there was sufficient evidence to warrant the probe‚ and said he had opened his docket after he learned that his life was in danger.

He added that the plotters had held a meeting at the start of Decemeber.

“There is a group that is called the Black Hawks‚ they are referred to as the Black Hawks‚ and some of the people that are referred to there‚ they are part of this whole thing that‚ the whole plan‚ to get senior police officials‚ like myself‚ General Ntlemeza‚ General Phahlane‚ removed from our positions…and also incite a popular revolt‚” Mokotedi said.

This the Black Hawks were doing‚ Mokotedi said by “engaging with political parties and taking people to court and so on”.

McBride on Tuesday invited Mokotedi to a public polygraph test to prove the charges‚ saying there was no amount of smoke and mirrors that could change the truth.
