Man plunges 15m to death at company in Meyerton

A man‚ believed to be in his late 20s‚ was killed on Sunday morning when he fell 15 metres at a company in the industrial area of Meyerton‚ south of Johannesburg‚ paramedics said.

ER24 said its paramedics had immediately responded to the scene.

“Upon arrival‚ paramedics found the man lying on the ground in a large building. The man was surrounded by a number of his collegues‚” said ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring.

“Paramedics immediately assessed the man and found that he had sustained a serious head injury and showed no signs of life.

“Unfortunately‚ the man had already succumbed to his injuries. Nothing more could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene‚” Meiring said.

He said the cause of this incident was not yet known but authorities were conducting an investigation into the matter.
