Anyone seen Oros of late? perhaps shedding lard

Kushubile emavarsity, and one needs to have their wits about them when they venture anywhere near campus, any campus. No wonder the brain-dead such as Namba Wan have stayed well clear.

A VERY WIDE BERTH

Kushubile emavarsity, and one needs to have their wits about them when they venture anywhere near campus, any campus. No wonder the brain-dead such as Namba Wan have stayed well clear.

That also explains why that alleged youth has not been seen anywhere near Braamfontein, despite leading what was once the eminent youth organisation in the country: think Juju, Razz, Peter Mokaba and his internal wing of Khongolose youth, Sayco (South African Youth Congress) back in the day.

Vera knows she's giving away her age by raising such dinosaurs as Sayco, but those were the days!

Now we have Oros giving the cauldron of real youth culture and issues a wide berth.

Vera can only imagine what a monumental task this must have been for him, getting all those layers of lard out of the way.

RUN OROS, RUN

That gave her an idea why he would make himself scarce; dodging rubber bullets and tear gas is no child's play - imagine a 100kg-plus trying to do it!

MOVING IN FOR THE KILL

Vera wondered whether the campus wars would be where Khongolose loses the next elections, seeing that its people aren't coming to the party with the crowd that will clearly make a substantial numbers of the voting bloc come 2019.

The Original Ben 10 has clearly figured that out and usurped the torch while Oros sits, contemplating the next battle in the imaginary war to defend Msholozi, a long lost cause.

The obvious brains behind Juju's red army declared to the students that he was not there wearing a political hat but was there as a parent and an alumnus who fought their kind of fight all those years ago, facing the might of apartheid forces.

KEEP ON WALKING

That's bound to resonate. Contrast that sharply with how the Johnny Walker we have for a president did when faced with the wrath of students.

When called to address the opening day of a fees imbizo on Monday, Namba Wan chose to demonstrate how well his literacy classes by the fire-pool were going by reading the speech he was obviously seeing for the first time almost flawlessly. Bravo. One step at a time. Like Johnny Walker, keep on walking.

GHOSTS, GHOSTS EVERYWHERE

The one person Vera never wants to bump into, especially when she has a tenderpreneur on her arm, is public protector Thuli Madonsela.

Phela nothing seems to scare this auntie. She has just found that KwaZulu-Natal treasury whistle-blower Fikile Hlatshwayo-Rouget's dismissal in 2013 was illegal.

Hlatshwayo-Rouget was dismissed for blowing the whistle, like all good whistle-blowers do, on the provincial government paying millions to event organisers of a Durban North Sea Jazz Festival that never happened.

So government does not only pay salaries to ghost workers, but also ghost festivals?

SUCKERS!

Facebook recently unpublished Indoni SA pages because they paraded African women wearing cultural attire that exposed their breasts.

Now Vera is gobsmacked! Is Facebook moderated by people from the Stone Age? Facebook sucks (if you'll excuse the pun).

SIYAPHANDA STILL

VERA has heard through the grapevine that the once-upon-a-time King of Kwaito Arthur Mafokate's new television show on SABC3, called A Date With Arthur, will finally see the light of day on October 15.

Mafokate has been talking non-stop about the show for as long as Vera can remember, and has benefited from Hlaudi's infamous 90% local music content.

Now with the ANC and parliament throwing Hlaudi under the bus this week, Vera is worried our king without a kingdom might just be stood up by his "date".
