Saying “leprous racists should be severely punished and ostracised”‚ the South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) called for the suspension of University of Pretoria Student Representative Council (SRC) member Lovuyo Menziwa.

It said this should be done “pending an investigation by the South African Human Rights Commission and disciplinary action over racist a Facebook posting inciting racial hatred and violence”.

A Sanco statement quoted the post as saying: “Reasons I hate white people: white privilege‚ white dominance‚ white arrogance‚ white monopoly capital and white superiority. F*** white people‚ just get me a bazooka or AK47 so I can do the right thing and kill these demon possed [sic] humans.”

This was apparently posted in reaction to the protests by black pupils at the Pretoria High School for Girls over a racist hair policy.

Said spokesperson Jabu Mahlangu: “We condemn in the strongest terms possible Menziwa’s racial utterances. Tougher action that include removal from the SRC and criminal charges should be instituted against those who are abusing social media platforms to rekindle the destructive forces of racism‚ anti-Semitism‚ intolerance‚ racial polarisation and hatred.”

He added: “Leprous racists should be severely punished and ostracized because there is no place for them in a non-racial‚ non-sexist‚ united and democratic South Africa.” – TMG Digital
