The bail application of the man accused of mutilating several women‚ including his wife‚ and keeping removed clitorises in his freezer‚ was postponed by the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Danish national Peter Frederiksen‚ 63‚ faces charges of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm‚ conspiracy to murder‚ bigamy‚ and manufacturing‚ distributing and possessing child pornography.

He is also accused of killing his wife‚ Matseliso Molise‚ 28.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Phaladi Shuping said the man’s case was postponed to an unspecified date to allow him to prove that he will not evade his trial as he does not own any property in South Africa.

“The last time the case was in court‚ the state argued that the accused is a flight risk because he does not have property in South Africa and granting him bail would be a risk as he does not have any ties in the country.

“The defence stated that the accused has money invested somewhere and requested the court to postpone the matter to today (Monday)‚ so that they can bring evidence to court that the accused can buy property in South Africa to show that he is not planning to evade his trial if granted bail‚” Shuping said.

On Monday‚ the defence informed the court that they have the documents but they are not signed‚ said Shuping.

“The magistrate said that once the defence has sorted out the papers‚ they will contact the prosecutor and the arrangement will be made to place the matter on the court roll.”
