A march in Durban on Friday is intended “to highlight the dangers of illegal skin-bleaching and stop this epidemic which is fast becoming a burden on public health”.
It is‚ a statement said‚ being organised by the “KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health‚ in partnership with the University of KwaZulu-Natal and other key stakeholders”.

“This initiative takes place at a time when the usage of these illegal and dangerous skin-bleaching products has become rife‚ particularly among black and Indian communities‚” it added.
The march starts at King Dinuzulu Park at noon and will make its way to Gugu Dlamini Park‚ where provincial MEC for Health Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo and other speakers will address the members of the public.
