Pre-trial proceedings in the Christopher Panayiotou murder case were postponed in the Port Elizabeth High Court on Thursday after his co-accused said that he was ill.

Suspected hitman Sizwezakhe Vumazonke will be taken to hospital after his legal representative said he was so ill that he could barely walk.

Judge Glenn Goosen accordingly postponed the proceedings to Monday.

Panayiotou is accused of orchestrating the murder of his wife‚ Jayde‚ by hiring hitmen Vumazonke‚ Sinethemba Nemembe and Zolani Sibeko to kidnap and kill her in April 2015.
