Popular TV personality Boity Thulo shocked many back in June when she revealed that she had gone on a spiritual journey and had accepted an ancestral calling. But what did her parent’s think of her decision?

Speaking to Bona recently‚ Boity opened up about her parent’s reaction to her calling‚ revealing that news of her calling made her mom “emotional.”

Boity said that her mom had her reservations about the decision‚ believing that the call may have come a little early.

“The whole thing makes my mom emotional because she feels I am too young. But‚ there’s no such thing [as being too young] in the spirit‚” she said in an interview with the mag.

Despite this‚ the star said that her parents and close friends were supportive of her decision and “were not shocked” by the news.

Speaking about her calling in a post back in June‚ Boity described it as “a beautiful gift” and “the proudest‚ most incredible day of my life.”

She was praised for her decision by fans and celebrities alike and told Bona that despite the shock‚ no one has distanced themselves from her since she made the announcement.
