Police are hunting six prisoners who escaped from Witpoort prison in Limpopo on Thursday.
Police spokeswoman Ronel Otto said the awaiting-trial prisoners should be considered armed and dangerous.
“They were arrested on charges of rape and armed robbery‚” Otto said.
’They might be considered armed and dangerous. Members of the public are advised not to approach them but rather pass on any information to the police.”
The circumstances of the escape are being investigated.
