Marathon interview session for new Public Protector in interest of fairness

Just 45 minutes have been scheduled for lunch‚ and 10 less for supper.

But the chairperson of the ad hoc parliamentary committee established to nominate a person for the appointment of Public Protector is adamant that all 14 shortlisted candidates vying for the position will be interviewed in one day — Thursday.

“The rationale behind this is to ensure that candidates do not have unfair advantage over others‚ as these interviews will be broadcast live‚” Dr Makhosi Khoza said.
