Independent candidates have scooped three wards in Limpopo.

This was according to figures from the IEC results centre in Polokwane at 4.30pm on Thursday.

IEC provincial electoral officer Motsiri Ramafalo said about 74% of votes had been counted by then.

He said provisional‚ “show that the ANC has 68.46% support‚ followed by EFF with 16.95% and DA at 8.17%. The independent candidates have also won 3 Wards so far“.

Ramafalo said municipalities were already completed by Thursday and that the final results should be in by Saturday morning.

He attributed the delay to a complaint raised by the Economic Freedom Fighters following alleged irregularities in Thabazimbi.
