“As a mother‚ Aunty Winnie was a pillar of strength to her family and was greatly admired and loved by her children.

We extend our deepest sympathy to mayor De Lille‚ her family‚ and loved ones. We pray for strength and comfort during this difficult time‚” Neilson said.

The popular and feisty mayor was overwhelmed by messages of condolence and support from the public‚ especially on social media.
