South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) senior journalist Vuyo Mvoko will today find out whether he is keeping his job or not.

This is according to The Star piece that suggests that Mvoko, along with seven other senior journalists were served with letter on Friday.

They were allegedly asked to provide reasons why they should keep their jobs. This comes after the eight journalists spoke out against the editorial changes at the state broadcaster.

Earlier last week, Mvoko described his experience at the SABC as 'hell'.

Mvoko spoke about how his show was canned after interviewing the outgoing Public Protector Thuli Madonsela and just before the scheduled episode on state capture.

Because he is a freelancer and does not belong to a union - unlike his seven counterparts - he will be appearing before a disciplinary hearing to hear his fate.

The eight SABC journalists who are facing disciplinary action for daring to speak up against the public broadcaster’s controversial chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng have been awarded the Nat Nakasa award for their courage.

ANC's Jackson Mthembu on Tuesday told the media that the party did not support the recent editorial changes that he described as "unintelligent".
