R18m lottery winner dies in car crash – report

A man identified as 30-year-old Nhlanhla ‘Budha’ Dlamini – who won big in the Lotto two years ago – was killed when his luxury Mercedes Benz crashed into a bakkie at high speed‚ according to a KwaZulu-Natal news report.

The Zululand Observer reported that Dlamini‚ who lived in Ngwelezane‚ had won the national lottery jackpot of R18-million in 2014.

Before his win‚ the report stated‚ he worked at a shisanyama‚ braaing meat and earning just R10 per customer.

The fatal accident occurred on Monday afternoon. He died on impact together with his passenger‚ the newspaper said. The driver of the bakkie and both passengers were taken to hospital in a critical condition.
