Meyiwas accuse Kelly of not co-operating

The family of Senzo Meyiwa wants his daughter by singer Kelly Khumalo to benefit from a PSL life policy to be paid out next week.

However, they said Khumalo was not cooperating "fully" with them.

The R4-million payout - R2-million of which goes to the family, all intended for the slain Bafana Bafana captain's children - was announced at the PSL offices in Parktown.

A family spokesman said the Meyiwas had been frustrated trying to include the child in the policy.

"We have made all the efforts to make sure Kelly's child is involved as a beneficiary," Siyabonga Meyiwa said. "Kelly has sent some information to assist to meet with her (the child). She's not been fully cooperative at the moment but we've done everything legally possible. We've asked the courts to assist too.

"But, we foresee that maybe once the funds are available we will meet the family [Khumalos], and the child in particular, because she is part of the [Meyiwa] family."

Khumalo could not be reached for comment.

The policy will be paid out next week, half to a trust for Meyiwa's children and half to Pirates, as stipulated by the policy terms.

Raymond Hack, the administrator for the policy, said the money will go to Meyiwa's children. He said in the absence of a will, if the footballer's customary marriage to Mandisa Mkhize had been registered, the pay-out would have been to her .
