Former SA cops arrested for 'terrorist acts' in Ghana deported

Three former policemen who were arrested in Ghana for allegedly training bodyguards of the opposition’s presidential candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo‚ were on Tuesday deported to South Africa.

The ex-cops‚ Major Chris Hazis‚ 54; Warrant Officer Denver Dwayhe‚ 33‚ and Captain Mlungiseli Jokani‚ 45‚ were detained in Ghana by the Bureau of National Investigations after they were found conducting a security training session at a hotel in Ghana. They were arrested on March 20.

According to myjoyonline.com‚ the former cops were deported today and their visas revoked by the Ghanaian Immigration Service.

Country elections are scheduled for November 2016.
