One person has been killed and 55 people have been injured after a truck overturned on Kiepersol and the R536 intersection in Sabie‚ Mpumalanga‚ Netcare paramedics said on Monday.

“Reports from the scene indicate that an overloaded truck carrying labourers overturned at about 08h30 this morning‚” the company said in a statement. “One man was declared dead on scene.”

Of the injured‚ at least one person is in a critical condition and 25 people sustained serious injuries while the rest sustained moderate injuries.

All injured patients were transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.
