Mystery over body discovered in DBN

Mystery surrounds the discovery of a body in Newlands East, Durban, early on Sunday morning, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

“Crisis Medical paramedics were called to the scene shortly after 3am. On arrival they discovered a body of an adult male lying in the roadway,” Crisis Medical spokesman Kyle van Reenen said.

“The gentleman, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead on arrival by paramedics.”

The cause of death was unknown. Reports by emergency care practitioners at the scene suggested the man “may have sustained abrasions postmortem with no evidence of blood loss found on the scene”.

“A call for the assistance of the South African Police Service was made by our emergency contact centre and investigations are underway, with the exact facts and details forming subject of such,” Van Reenen said.
