Cope leader Mosiuoa Lekota was a "dead man walking" and EFF leader Julius Malema a "headless chicken", Water and Sanitation Minister Nomvula Mokonyane said during the State of the Nation Address debate on Wednesday.
"All those who watched dead man walking, surely you agree there is no basis for us to waste time with him," she said, referring to Lekota.
During President Jacob Zuma’s speech last Thursday, Lekota stood up and accused the president of violating his oath of office, and left the National Assembly with his fellow MPs.
Mokonyane tried to paint a picture of a bitter man.
"As he walked out on the State of the Nation Address, those who heard him walking overheard him saying 'I will never forgive president Zuma. He was sent to the Free State to remove me and replace me with Ace Magashule'," Mokonyane claimed.
Lekota was Free State premier from 1994 to 1996.
Stealing Cope from Shilowa Mokonyane accused Lekota of "stealing" the Congress of the People from Mbhazima Shilowa. "He is not at peace with himself," she added.
Formed in 2008, the Congress of the People split into factions led by Lekota and Shilowa.
Mokonyane also criticised Malema’s apology to former President Thabo Mbeki. In his speech on Tuesday, Malema apologised to Mbeki for being part of the team that had worked to remove him from power.
Mokonyane said when the ANC national executive committee deliberated on whether to recall Mbeki, Malema was the most outspoken.
“Julius Malema will recall that he spoke longer than everybody else huffing and puffing, moving up and down like a headless chicken.”
She said Zuma, Pallo Jordan and ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe had opposed the decision taken by the collective to remove Mbeki.
“So you can ask for forgiveness, it is important. But you are not a real man. You are not a trustworthy man.
“Indoda ekhatywe esfubeni asiyona indoda,” she said, meaning he could not be trusted with information.
