Parents of pupils at Cheplaskei Primary School in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya, stormed the institution on Tuesday, demanding the removal of the head teacher, who they accused of condoning immorality at the school.
This was after 12 schoolgirls were confirmed pregnant. The parents claimed that some of the teachers were behind the pregnancies.
The angry parents stormed the principal's office, which they then locked with their own padlock before confronting teachers in the full view of pupils.
"Girls have been dropping out in Standard 6 and 7. The dorms have become maternity," an incensed parent told KTN.
This is not the first case of mass pregnancy of schoolgirls in the east African country.
Last year, 27 girls at Moi Kaptama Girls High school and another 13 from Chemoge secondary school were found pregnant, with teachers being implicated.
