A young man of aged about 25 years drowned at a caravan park next to the Vaal River in Vanderbijlpark‚ Gauteng‚ on Saturday afternoon‚ paramedics said.
The man apparently dove into the Vaal River and was submerged for more than an hour‚ ER24 said.
“SAPS divers assisted in retrieving the man from the water so that paramedics could assess him. Sadly the man had already succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on scene by ER24 paramedics.
“The exact cause and circumstances surrounding the incident remains unknown. Local authorities were on scene for investigation‚” the emergency medical service stated.
