TUT Soshanguve students cannot write exams amid violent protests

Examinations have been postponed indefinitely at the Tshwane University of Technology’s Soshanguve campus.

“All exams for 2015 at the Soshanguve North and South Campuses have been postponed indefinitely due to the ongoing volatility on these campuses‚” the institution said in a statement.

The university has been shut down after violent protests flared up again at the weekend. Students are demanding that those from poor backgrounds should be allowed to receive their end of the year results‚ despite their fees not being paid up.

They went on the rampage‚ which saw security vehicles and three examination halls set alight ohn Saturday night.

TUT said it would make further announcements in the course of the day.
