Thousands will march for economic freedom - Malema
Johannesburg - EFF leader Julius Malema is confident that at least 5 000 people will take part in a march demanding economic freedom in Johannesburg on Tuesday.
"It's all systems go and we are expecting not less than 5 000 people to march to the Chamber of Mines," he told Talk Radio 702 ahead of the march, which is due to start at 10:00.
They protesting against the "collusion of prices", the "exploitation" of their people, and "white monopoly rule", he said.
"We are going to the Reserve Bank because they are supposed to be the regulator and yet they contravene to collude prices and exploit people, taking their houses away with no due process to inquire why these people cannot afford to pay.
"The Johannesburg Stock Exchange has all white-owned companies and the majority is excluded from that economy with no release of shares," Malema said.
Protesters will march from Mary Fitzgerald Square, and proceed to the SA Reserve Bank, Chamber of Mines and to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in Sandton.
