Alleged dope-dealing gogo released on warning

A granny accused of dealing in dagga is looking for a laywer after 3‚8kg of suspected “Transkei gold” was found in her shack on Monday.

Police spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha said Makholisile Lubuzo‚ 65‚ appeared briefly before the Dutywa Magistrate Court on Wednesday and was released on warning.

She was arrested at noon on Monday.

The street value of the cannabis was put at R4000.

Police believe Lubuzo brought the dagga from Libode‚ which is 30km from Mthatha in the vicinity of the infamous Pondoland dagga lands.

Butterworth cluster commander Brigadier Mbeko Sibidla said Dutywa police had acted on “intelligence“.
