Sports and Recreations Minister Fikile Mbalula had strong words to say once again, about Beeld editor Adriaan Basson’s newest tweet about him.

The issue started almost a week ago when Mbalula flew to Las Vegas for the “fight of the century”, the boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Basson tweeted that as the Minster was in Las Vegas he hoped that he had not used tax payer’s money to get there. Mbalula answered him by saying that “a black man can afford to go to Vegas without using tax payer’s money.

The conversation than turned  into a full on twar.  Many people joined sides and commented. A majority of the people defending the Minister while others sided with Basson wanting to know where did Mbalula get the money to travel to Vegas.

Everything ended with Mbalula blocking Basson on twitter.

But it seems the issue has heated up again.

Basson tweeted that in today’s paper they had proof that Floyd Mayweather’s 2014 trip to South Africa was funded by an ex arms dealer at the bequest of Minster Mbalula.

Mbalula replied calling for proof of Basson’s allegations. Mbalula also accused Basson of using his paper “to fight a battle he couldn’t win” Mbalula carried on tweeting his sentiments, even when Beeld News editor Pieter du Toit pointed out that Basson could not see his tweets as he had blocked him.

Eventually Mbalula ended his tirade by saying that he understood Basson was looking for followers but all he wanted was respect. He then bid goodnight to his followers.
