86-year-old woman hijacked outside her home - VIDEO
Sue Smuts was hijacked outside her home in Clear View, Somerset West last Wednesday.
Moments after Smuts parked her Fiat Uno outside her home, a man is seen walking up to the car from behind.
He knocks on the drivers window and appears to be talking to the elderly woman through the window.
She then appears to open the window slightly to talk to the man and without hesitation, he pushes his arm through the opening and unlocks the door.
Smuts was then dragged out of the car and the thief drove away.
In a statement released by the Western Cape SAPS, “Two detectives spotted the stolen vehicle in Macassar abandon. They decided to monitor the vehicle - the suspect returned to the vehicle and drove off. The detectives followed vehicle to Parow area where they arrested the 37-year-old.”
