A newborn baby was found dead inside a toilet at the Cecilia Makiwane Hospital in East London on Wednesday.
Department of health spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said the baby‚ whose gender had not yet been confirmed by police‚ was found by a member of the hospital staff in the early hours of the morning.
“It appears that the mother had just given birth when she dumped the baby inside the toilet at the hospital’s public toilets‚ but we are still awaiting more details‚” said Kupelo.
