President Jacob Zuma’s anticipated speech to Parliament on xenophobia has been delayed by filibustering by opposition parties who demanded that Zuma answering questions about his Nkandla residence.

EFF leader‚ Juilius Malema said: “The president should be given the opportunity to answer the question when he is paying back the money“.

The Speaker‚ Baleka Mbete‚ refused to allow EFF MPs to rise on points of order. “Honourable Malema‚ I’m going to have to throw you out of the house.”

Malema responded: “You keep taking illegal decisions. I’m not here at your invitation. The EFF was elected to be here.

“You don’t have such powers. You are taking illegal decisions. You can’t throw me out!“

Mbete said that the business of the day had been agreed on by a committee of all parties and that only three questions would be put.

Malema responded: “Put the question to the president.

“Stop being over-protective of the president. Let the president take the podium. Let the president decide if he wants to answer it or not.”
