On Wednesday‚ Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille will launch a national petition in support of blacklisting child maintenance defaulters.
Zille will be joined at the protest outside Parliament by Denise Robinson‚ an MP and interim leader of the DA Women’s Network‚ and Western Cape Social Development Minister Albert Fritz.
The petition seeks to garner support against the ANC’s intention to exclude Clause 11 — which would allow for credit bureaus to blacklist parents who default on paying for their minor children — from the Maintenance Amendment Bill.
