The 65-year old engineer was working on a lift in Sweden when a chain slipped and severed his right arm.
According to theDaily Mail, Vinod Hindocha was standing inside the lift cage with his arm extended when a chain slipped, dropping the cage to the ground.
As a result, his extended arm was ripped off from the shoulder.
After he fell, Hindocha recalls seeing the severed limb suspended one storey above him.
Surgeons spent 13 hours reattaching the limb and say it will be 18 months before full extent of damage is known.
He has movement in his elbow and warmth in fingertips.
