Woman appears for allegedly killing Flabba

A woman arrested in connection with the murder of hip-hop star Nkululeko Habedi is expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Habedi, a member of hip-hop group Skwatta Kamp, and known as Flabba in the music industry, was stabbed to death at his home on Monday, allegedly by his girlfriend.

Police said they were called to Habedi's Alexandra home at 4am, where the 38-year-old musician was killed.

Family spokesman Tshepang Habedi said his brother was stabbed once in the heart.

Mourners gathered at the musician's residence in 3rd Street to pay their last respects on Monday.

Childhood friend Mokotedi Mpshane said Flabba was a down-to-earth person and this influenced his music.

"We will sit around and chat. The next thing he would tell you that you just gave him lyrics for his songs," he said laughing.

"That was Flabba for you. He was a kasi [township] boy living a kasi life."

The woman was arrested at the scene.
