Kaizer Chiefs boss Stuart Baxter has tipped SuperSport United coach Cavin Johnson to bounce back following a dismal start to the 2014/15 a premiership season.

United have suffered four defeats from their opening five games this season, which includes a loss to Orlando Pirates in the opening round of the MTN8, and Johnson appears early favourite to be the first managerial casualty this season.

Baxter, however, is more upbeat about his opposite number, drawing similarities from the United Kingdom and one of England's biggest clubs.

"SuperSport are a very solid club. They've got a good group of players and Cavin is a good coach," Baxter said at Chiefs' training base in Johannesburg on Thursday.

"David Moyes had a nightmare at Man United, Louis van Gaal is already having a mini nightmare. So good coaches also have bad times.

"Cavin will get it right if people allow him that time, but sometimes we're not given that time because there's media and supporters, and there's pressure from directors.

"We know that -- we're big boys. We get into the game and we know the rules, so all the speculation won't change the fact that they have got good players."

The two sides meet in a mouth-watering league clash at FNB Stadium on Saturday night, where Johnson will undoubtedly be under pressure for a positive result.

Chiefs consolidated their first place on the Premiership table on Wednesday, courtesy of a 2-0 win over Platinum Stars in Rustenburg --their third victory over Dikwena in 11 days.

Amakhosi became the first team since Mamelodi Sundowns in 2010 to win four out of four opening league games and the Soweto outfit already enjoy a seven point margin over fierce rivals Orlando Pirates and defending league champions, Sundowns.

The Soweto giants are unbeaten in seven games so far this season and last week booked their spot in the final of the MTN8, capping a massively successful opening month for the Glamour Boys.
