Three men were arrested on Friday for alleged hijacking and possession of stolen property worth about R120,000 in Zola, Soweto, Gauteng police said.

The men, aged 30, 31, and 27, were arrested around 2.20am, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.

They allegedly hijacked a Toyota Quantum minibus in Booysens on Thursday, which was recovered on Friday in Zola north.

Four others, aged between 23 and 30, were arrested on Thursday around 11pm in Jabulani, Makhubela said.

Police allegedly found four suspects stripping a bakkie which was also hijacked in Booysens on Thursday.

"It looks like a syndicate of people who are doing this in the area," he said.

The seven would appear in Protea Magistrate's Court on Monday.

The three men faced charges of hijacking of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property, Makhubela said.

The other four faced charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
