Bye bye Chamber mates, hello Miss Iris

Big Brother Mzansi bids farewell to remaining Chamber housemates.

Big brother Mzansi began with a twist when big brother announced that an additional six contestants had been added to the competition and would be living in a separate chamber as they compete for a chance to join the main house.

The chambermates 23 year old music producer Paris, 23 year old Events and venue manager Jenayne, Nku a 29-year old PR consultant from Durban, 21 year old model from Vrede, Iris, 25 year old, aspiring filmmaker Kgosi and 26-year old marketing co-ordinator from Soweto Mbali took part in a number of tasks as they tried to win the hearts of the audience as well as fellow housemates.

Kgosi was the first to be picked for the main house last week after receiving majority votes from the BBMzansi housemates.

It was then up to the public to decide which other chamber mate deserved an upgrade.

Sadly the public’s number one choice Mbali was evicted on Saturday for breaking the one of the rules strictly prohibiting violence, runner up Iris was then given the honour of joining the other housemates to compete for the grand prize.

Although the remaining chamber mates were shown the door last night, their spirits were still high this morning as they made plans to capitalize on the exposure they received from the show.

“When I entered Big brother Mzansi I wanted to bring attention to myself, not for superficial reasons but for projects I want to do. Now that people recognize me, doors will now be open and people will be willing to hear me out”, said Nku.

“It’s all about having an audience.”

Events and venue manager Jenayne felt the same way.

“I wanted to build a foundation for future things, I’m an entrepreneur and being in the house will make it easier for me to get more connections. I’m also hoping to get job as presenter so hopefully being in Big brother Mzansi has helped with that, she said.

Although their stay in the chamber was a small one, Paris, Janayne and Nku had a memorable experience.

“From the tap exploding when I first arrived to playing hide and seek, it was all fun,” said Jaynine

“I also enjoyed the tasks and presentations and of course the Valentine’s Day surprise from the boys; that was the best,” Nku added.

On Iris’ move to the main house, the chamber mates said it came as a complete shock to them.

“I wasn’t expecting it. When she was in the house, we saw her as an underdog to tell truth so it came as a complete surprise to me but I’m happy for her and I hope she does well in the house, the dreadlocked charmer Paris said.

So now that the chambermates are out who are they hoping will win the competition and become one million rand richer?

Mzamo!!! The ladies shout. Paris however is putting his money on Iris.

Who is your favourite?
