Four new people have been appointed to the Open Society Foundation for SA (OSF SA) board, it said on Wednesday night.

They were Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town Thabo Makgoba, lawyer and full time member of the Competition Tribunal of SA Yasmin Carrim, political commentator Justice Malala and chartered accountant Lindiwe Bokoro.

The foundation also announced that three board members had left.

They were former chair Zyda Rylands, Nomfundo Walaza and Karrisha Pillay.

"The chairperson of the OSF SA board, Mr Isaac Shongwe, wishes to take this opportunity to bid farewell to three long-serving board members," it said in a statement.

"Ms Zyda, Nomfundo and Karrisha have served... OSF SA in various capacities for many years, and their contribution will be missed by the remaining board members, staff and partners...," it said.
