Mango goes international

South African Airways' low cost airline Mango on Sunday launched its scheduled flights between Johannesburg and Zanzibar.

This was the airline's first expansion beyond SA borders, Mango CEO Nico Bezuidenhout said in a statement.

He said the Johannesburg-Zanzibar schedule operation came after almost eight months of successful charter operations.

"The success of the charter operation over the past couple of months served as a litmus test for the scheduled service," he said.

Launch fares start from R2880 all inclusive.

Flight tickets could also be purchased on store charge cards.

"Edcon group account holders will be able to purchase flights online and through our call centre with packaged holidays available by the end of the year," said Bezuidenhout.
