A man was killed after he was ran down by a train as he tried to cross a railway line in Simonsdale, Limpopo police said on Saturday.
"He tried to cross the railway line on Saturday and was subsequently killed by a train. An inquest docket has been opened for investigation," said spokesman Constable Moses Molepo.
The unknown man is believed to be aged between 30 and 40.
He was satisfied dead on the scene.
