A fire caused extensive damage to the hall of Holy Family College in Saxonwold, Johannesburg, on Thursday night, Johannesburg emergency management services said.
Spokeswoman Nana Radebe said initial reports indicated that no one was injured in the fire.
"The hall is fully gutted and other parts of the school were also damaged," she said.
Firefighters were working on dampening down the affected buildings at 10pm.
