Lightning kills two in Soweto

They were sitting under a tree

Two men were killed by lightning in Klipspruit, Soweto on Wednesday, Johannesburg emergency services said.

“Resuscitation efforts from the Johannesburg emergency services paramedics were unsuccessful and the two were later confirmed dead on scene,” said spokesman Robert Mulaudzi.

“It is alleged that the two were sitting underneath a tree smoking when they were struck by the lightning.”
