Men in court over sheep

"We found the three men along with two sheep on the back seat and another two sheep in the boot of the vehicle."

Three men appeared in court after being caught near Ixopo squeezed in a car with four stolen sheep, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Thursday.

Colonel Jay Naicker said Mxolisi Dlamini, 20, Sabelo Khoza, 22, and Thobani Madlala, 20, appeared in the Ixopo Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

"The men who face charges of possession of stolen property will be back in court on September 6," said Dlamini.

Police stopped a white Toyota Tazz on Wednesday during a stop and search operation on the R56.

"We found the three men along with two sheep on the back seat and another two sheep in the boot of the vehicle."

Naicker said the men were arrested as they could not give a reasonable account of how they had come to be in possession of the animals.
