THE Bakgatla-Ba-Kgafela traditional administration employee who was suspended has denied allegations of forgery against her.

Sowetan reported on August 15 that Lorraine Masipa, who has resigned from her position as the tribe's head of corporate affairs, was suspended after allegedly forging tribe CEO Meshack Molope's signature on a cheque of R8-million.

"The allegation that our client has been suspended on account of forgery is false," a letter from Masipa's attorneys states.

"Our client's suspension and the reason for her suspension were not based on the said allegation of forgery. Our client has not forged any cheque."

They would not say what the reason for her suspension was.

Bakgatla's director of communications, Kebone Molope, said: "Let us allow the due process of the investigation to take its course."
